Fitness Requirements & Risks Associated with Nature Adventures

Acampa Nature Adventures require good health and physical condition. You will be traveling on uneven and slippery terrain, wading in moving water, standing near steep ledges and cliffs, and hiking over sustained hills. Activities may be challenging for you both mentally and physically. The risk of bee stings, other insect bites, or toxic plant reactions is significant. Your adventure will take place in a remote area with limited access to emergency medical services.

If you have a medical or physical condition, which makes participating in these activities dangerous for you, you should not participate. Pregnant women are not advised to participate in our tours, due to the high level of risk involved in them. Acampa guides can and will determine if a participant is not fit to participate in the adventure. Participants under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be permitted to participate on any of the activities.

If you have any questions about your ability to participate, please call and speak with one of our staff about your concerns before you make a reservation. Due to size restrictions on our harnesses and other technical equipment, we are not able to accommodate people weighing over 230lbs on rappelling or zip-lining elements of our tours. Acampa Nature Adventures uses the following height-weight ratio chart (see below) as our standard guideline.

We are not doctors! You are the best judge of your own health and physical condition. Our staff is happy to discuss any concerns with you or give you more detailed information about what you will encounter on your Nature Adventure so that you can make an informed decision.

We make every effort to provide you a fun Nature Adventure. Our staff will give instructions before each activity and it is important that you listen and follow their instructions. You will assume the responsibility for many decisions affecting your safety during your Nature Adventure. These activities can be physically demanding with inherent elements of risk and danger beyond our control. We do not assume liability for personal injury or death. You must sign a Release form and an Emergency Information form and go at your own risk.

Acampa reserves the right to cancel or limit your participation based on your physical condition. If you have any questions or concerns about your ability to participate safely, speak with our staff ahead of time. If you have to cancel your participation at the last minute due to an undisclosed medical or physical condition, you will be responsible to pay the full amount of your trip (as detailed in the Reservation Terms and Conditions).
