Acampa is also the official Outdoor Store on the island with the complete selection of outdoor products and brands such as Patagonia, Osprey, Petzl, MSR, Keen, Vasque and much more for all your campings, travels and adventures.

As leaders in the Puerto Rico ecotourism industry, we strive and work to involve members of the communities in all of our projects. Acampa proudly employs 100% locals as part of our team. Our professional and friendly staff is well educated with a vast knowledge about Puerto Rico. We aim to offer our tour in small groups, in order to provide a real personal and cultural adventurous experience.

In September 2017 hurricane María hit very hard Puerto Rico. Our tour and adventure business got interrupted for 4 months and our rainforest properties got destroyed.  We will not be offering adventure tours in the rainforest for 2018.

Right after the hurricane, Acampa started helping the Toro Negro community around our property and the friends that had helped and worked with us for many years.  We were doing trips delivering food, water, water purification systems, batteries, solar lamps and clothing direct to the people that need it most.  We learned from this experience that our voluntarism in helping the community did the difference in all this families and friends in the rainforest.  Our experience of working 20 years in the ecotourism industry in this remote deep high rainforest mountains gave us an advantage in getting direct help and supplies to this community in short time.

There are still a lot of people and communities without homes, potable water and electric power in this mountain regions.  Puerto Rico is entering the recovery stage and now is the time for making permanent improvements. We are going to offer two new services for 2018. Acampa is offering the service of connecting groups (corporations, churches, universities...) that are interested in helping in the recovery stage with the affected communities in the central mountains.

We are pleased to announce that starting in May of 2018, Acampa Nature Adventures is offering exclusive camping tours to Mona Island. Mona was the only island in the archipelago of Puerto Rico not impacted or affected by Hurricane María.   The flora, fauna, beaches, and vegetation are still pristine and untouched. Mona Island is the last truly best kept secret destination in the Caribbean.
